Here are the prompts I used:
I slumped against the hard stone wall, The Master’s voice replaying through my head. “You have five days to complete the quest. Stick together and avoid the monster cities.”
Now here I was, three days later. My friends and I had been separated in a storm. I wondered where they had ended up. Most likely, they were trying to find me.
I was stuck in a monster city called Gershom, trapped in one of the monster’s tumbledown jail cells. They’d thrown me in here last night, with nothing to eat or drink.
My cell was small, with four stone walls and an open roof. A few wooden pallets and crates sat in a corner, filled with old hay.
I gazed up at the cloudy sky. An idea began to form in my head- a crazy idea, but how could things get worse? I was going to try. After all, I was a Warrior. That’s what I did.
I stood up and got to work. I stacked the pallets and crates up in the corner. Then I began to climb, repeating the same message in my head over and over again. Don’t look down.
I looked down.
The ground was a lot farther away than I thought, and I began to feel dizzy. Trembling, I reached my hands towards the roof. As I pulled myself up, my sweaty hands began to slip.
I pulled both legs up just as my tower swayed, then fell with a loud crash. So much for being stealthy.
A crowd of monsters came running, their reptilian voices shouting at me to stop. One of them wore a muddy police uniform. I wondered with a shudder what happened to the policeman he got it from.
I wobbled to my feet and moved slowly across the surface of the stone roof. The rocks were good for climbing. The monsters weren’t making much progress down below as they tried to climb the stone wall. Just as I got to the end of the roof, the sky darkened and it started to rain.
I started to slip as the rain got harder. Water ran down the slanted surface, splashing all over me and making everything slippery. I tried to hold on to the edge, my arms feeling like they were on fire.
All of a sudden, my hands slipped. I fell, time seeming to slow down as the ground got closer…. closer…
I felt a hot pain shoot through my leg. The whole world seemed to swirl and spin, filled with pain. I couldn’t focus, couldn’t see…..
Everything faded to black.

Corwin was kneeling next to me, calling. “Mina!” Through my pain, I saw a single tear slip down her face. “Oh, please be okay.”
I sat up, wincing at the pain that reverberated down my leg. Corwin hugged me. I was ravenously hungry, and I lay back down as she began to make a fire. “How did you find me, Corwin?” She smiled.
“We’re Warriors. That’s what we do.”
I noticed the silence in the town. “Where are the monsters?” Corwin sighed. “I… dealt with them.”
We rested for a while, then my friend helped me to my feet. I leaned heavily on her shoulder.
Together, we left the town to find our friends.
What are your thoughts on my story? 🙂
I can’t believe that 2016 is almost here! I’m excited. 🙂 Have a great day, everyone!
