Random Post #9

Welcome to another random post, my friends!

Before I begin this post, I have an announcement – my friend Bekah has started a blog! Click right >> HERE << to check it out. 😀

Now let’s get started, shall we?

Random Topic #1: Recent Artwork

YAY FOR ART! I’ve been drawing a bible verse/song lyric every Sunday in church, and I’ve also done a few more drawings in my sketchbook. 🙂

Now for a few drawings!

A rather odd-looking cat.

Guys, this wolf took me F O R E V E R to draw. I worked on it for about 4 days, and it’s still not perfect. *groans* I followed this tutorial, in case you were wondering. 🙂

A rough sketch of a cute little tree frog.

This is something I drew in the car when I was bored. It’s kinda cool! I love how bright and vibrant my Prismacolors are.

Lastly, I have some envelope art! This is a record player with a rather poorly blurred address written on it. 😛

Which of my drawings is your favorite? 😀

Random Topic #2: My Blogging Notebook

Last week, Charis posted about creating a blogging notebook and I got inspired to make one of my own. I’ve been working on it for a few days now and I decided to share some pictures of what I’ve done so far. 🙂

Here’s my cover! I decorated it with Sharpies and some washi tape.

I decided to put one of my favorite quotes on the first page as some inspiration. 🙂

Here’s some info about my blog – fonts, color codes, sites I use, etc. I made a little washi tape “door” to cover my login info. 😉

Here’s a list of some of my future goals for this blog.

A list of post ideas (covered up, because I can’t have them revealed ahead of time.) 😛

Here’s my attempt at an artistic “August” page.

My goals and accomplishments for August are listed here. This is incomplete because August isn’t over yet. 😉

My stats for August. Again, it will be completed at the end of the month.

Here’s my most recent page! It’s a (currently blank) calendar for August that I’ll fill in once I complete my schedule. 🙂

That’s as much as I’ve done so far! Do you have a blogging notebook? What do you think of mine?

Random Topic #3: Recent Posts I’ve Enjoyed

Random Topic #4: Light Painting

A little while ago I did some more light painting with my siblings! Some you may remember when I talked about light painting in this post. It’s so much fun to do! This time was interesting though – I had my camera on a tripod, we would turn all the lights out, my siblings would create shapes with their flashlights, and then they would all rush to see the finished picture before I had a chance to turn the light back on. THREE CHILDREN WHO COULDN’T SEE WHERE THEY WERE GOING WERE CHARGING AT MY PRECIOUS CAMERA. *hyperventilates* Thankfully my camera (and myself) survived the experience. XD

Here are some of the pictures we made:

Isn’t that so neat? 😀 I love light painting!

Random Topic #5: The Smallones

Heh heh heh. *hides as everyone throws rotten tomatoes*

I haven’t posted The Smallones in several months. O_o I REALLY NEED TO POST MORE! AHHH! But are you guys even still interested in reading it?

Please vote and let me know what you think in the comments!

Random Topic #6: A Very Important Announcement

Okay. *takes a really deep breath* Guys, I need to tell you something important.

“Clara” is a pseudonym. It’s not my real name. I know I’ve used it since I started blogging, and it’s going to be quite hard for me and for all of you guys to get used to, but I’ve come to the decision that I’m going to start using my real name on my blog.

Are you ready to see what my real name is? Drumroll, please!

*bursts out laughing* *regains composure* Let me know in the comments below if you believed me even for a second. 😉 Clara is my real name — but apparently, I like randomly pranking my readers, so yeah. XD *continues laughing*

MOVING ON.

Random Topic #7: Introducing an Awesome Blog That Deserves More Followers

I’ve decided to include a topic in my random posts every now and then where I give a shoutout to a blog that deserves more attention. There are just so many amazing bloggers out there that deserve way more recognition than they get!

The blog I’ll be giving a shoutout to today is:

Purely Olivia

Please check out her blog, follow, like, and comment! Also, please leave links in the comments to some blogs you think deserve a shoutout. 😀

Random Topic #8: Photo Editing?

Would any of you be interested in a post about how I edit my photos? I know a lot of you already know how to use PicMonkey (which is what I use), so I don’t know if anyone would even want to read it. Please let me know if that’s something you’d like to see!

before-after

Here’s a sneak peek at what the post will be like if I do it. 😉

Random Topic #9: Another Poem

I decided to share another one of my poems. 🙂 Here goes!

 – The Calm After the Storm –

wind subsides

thunder fades

raindrops slowly cease

a whisper

as the green earth sighs

glad to be at peace

sunset

bathes the soaking earth

each blade bowing low

windswept trees

with dripping leaves

reflect

the golden glow

What do you think of my poetry?

Random Topic #10: Three Important Holidays

Today (August 17th) is Black Cat Appreciation Day! Bet you didn’t know that. XD *squishes Ninja and Ember* Go pet your local black cat and give it some catnip or whatever.

*clears throat* Hear ye, hear ye! Tomorrow, August 18th is Percy Jackson’s birthday! Prepare the blue cookies! *throws confetti*

Also, this Saturday (August 19th) is World Photography Day! *hugs my camera* Go look at some of your favorite photographs, bake a cake, and write a heartfelt speech telling your camera how much you love and appreciate it. Get on with it. *waves you away*

AHH CLARA! Thank you so much for the shoutout!❤️It means a lot to me and I can’t even describe how happy I was when I saw that. 🙂 THANK YOU! hugs you runs around like a crazy person screams
I love your random posts! They’re so fun to read. All your artwork and poetry is beyond amazing.😊 Also, light painting looks so cool!
OKAY. Clara. You semi-tricked me with your name prank. I just stared at the screen in shock for a moment, and then as I was scrolling through the dot-things, I realized that you just changed your blog name. And if you wanted to use your real name maybe you would have done it then? So I was slightly suspicious…but still tricked for the most part. 😉
THANK YOU AGAIN FOR THE SHOUTOUT! You’re the sweetest person ever.

  3. I really liked this post format! Your blog notebook is so cool, I think I’m going to start one now! I saw Charis’s post and was inspired then, but kind of forgot to do it cringe
Anyways light painting is really cool, I’ve never seen it before! Great post 🙂

  4. gasps Your blogging notebook looks soooooooooo pretty!! I can never make things look pretty. Waaaah. 😦
Wow. That light painting…I didn’t know cameras could do stuff like that! Those are just gorgeous. I’m off to do research…
Umm, do I want the Smallones to continue? MORE LIKE I WOULD THROW A BOOK AT YOU IF I DON’T GET THE NEXT PART THIS MONTH.
And. what. Clara. you. fooled. me. there. I TOTALLY fell for that. -___- Like, totally. I had a slight suspicion that you would do what May did (saying her real name was TheMangoQueen), but that kinda melted away as I scrolled. I am so gullible. I should have remembered the sandwich shop where they pronounced Clara wrong. 😛
Yes I would love to see that photo editing post!! 😀 And woah. I just love your poetry!
WAAAAH. It’s world photography day? Wow, so perfect. *eye roll* Just at the time our camera is broken. *another eye roll*

Sorry for…this comment of unnecessary length. Good luck replying. 😛

      HAHAHAHA YAY. XD

Oh no, that’s awful! 😦 I hope you can get it fixed!

  5. YAY! I love your random posts! They’re random, yet so not random and they’re so fun to read. 😀 Those light paintings are so pretty!! Happy you and your camera survived that stampede. 😉
Your blogging notebook is so aesthetic! You’re such a good artist! I attempted a bullet journal, but gave up after 10 minutes because nothing was PERFECT. I’m such a perfectionist. 😛 These kind of things don’t work for me because I repeatedly waste good notebooks. XD
Ok, Clara, how could you… when I read that your name was a pseudonym, I was like, “NO….I’m not prepared to call you anything different!!” So yes, you had me fooled. Completely. I’m so gullible XD
And yes, I would love to see that editing post! And of course I would love to see more of Smallones! I haven’t been reading them for a while though, naughty me, so I’m excited to read more. 😀
And your poetry is beautiful; I was smiling the whole way!!
Woah, there is Photography Day? That’s cool! Did you know that there is Brothers Day and Sisters day? 😮
    AWESOME POST!!

    1. YAY! I’m so glad you enjoy them, Zielle! Hehe, yes, I’m glad we survived as well. 😉
Aw, thank you! And don’t worry about your art being perfect – just enjoy being creative and don’t focus on the mistakes. 😀
      HAHAHA. Sorry (not) XDD
Thanks for the feedback on both things! 🙂
Aw, I’m glad you liked it. 😀
Yep, isn’t is neat? Wow, that’s so cool!
      THANK YOU!!!

  6. I really like these! Random posts are fun!
HAHA! Your real name announcement! I think I was actually more surprised that you were going to tell us your “real” name than that Clara was a pseudonym XD. But then I was like, “But why would you update your blog to Clara and Co.?” 😛 I also realized that you didn’t include “an important announcement” in your title, which seemed a little strange for such an important reveal. But I don’t think I really knew it was a joke until you said so! You were quite convincing XD .
    Fun post!

  7. Your random posts are amazing! ❤ You’re an amazing artist, your blogging notebook looks great! Oh, and I did believe Clara was your pseudonym… pshh. 😀 Your poetry is pretty too! I found out about Photography Day just this morning, it was in the newspaper I get, and I’m planning to a special something about that. Except I’m not quite sure what, heh heh. 😛

  10. YAYAYAYAY A RANDOM POST WOOP WOOP! 😀
    Ahem.
#1. Oohhh, I love your art, Clara! It’s all lovely, especially the wolf. O.o I think you did a great job on it, but I know the feeling when you just can’t… get it… right… XD And I really like your cat too! It’s face does look a bit narrow, but other than that it’s really, really good! I think fur is hard to draw. And YES! Goooo Prismacolor! It always amazes me how incredible bright and smooth the colors are – almost like oil pastels, but not as smudgy and waxy. NOW I WANT TO GO DRAW FOR THE REST OF THE DAY.
#2. Ooh, I love your blogging notebook! Especially that first page – it’s gorgeous, and I love the quote! I decided to make a blogging notebook too, but I’ve only done the cover and two pages. 🙂
#3. Wait, WHAT? How did I miss Hayley’s post?! Goes off to read it…
#4. Ha ha! I loved your introduction to this one. XD Also those photos are so neat! You and your siblings did a great job. 🙂
#5. As for the Smallones, I could go either way. I always love your posts, but I would probably prefer a different topic like more photography or art (or random posts!) rather than photostories. But I will be happy either way. 🙂
#6. Eh heh heh. Heh. VERY FUNNY, CLARA. I was like, “Wait what? This can’t be right, because she would have told Megan and I if it wasn’t her real name. Besides, why did she wait so long to tell us? Oh well, I guess it could be a pseudonym… shrug Hmm, I have NO idea what her real name would be. Let’s see… OH. Well. Veeery funny.” XD So I think I did believe you for a second, but I was rather skeptical. XD I agree with Gracie, though – you were pretty convincing!
#7. Aww, that’s a nice idea! I will check out her blog. As for shoutout suggestions…
#8. Hmm, I feel the same way about this as with Smallones. I’ve been using PicMonkey for a while now so I know how to use it pretty well and I wouldn’t necessarily need the post, if you know what I mean. No offense at all! And again, I really just like all your posts, so I love to read anything you post. 😀
#9. Ooh, your poem is really good, Clara! I like how it’s subtly rhyming but still has the freedom of a non-rhyming poem.
#10. HA HA! Did you get those from Megan? XD OOH, today is National Photography Day? Well what do you know, I just posted photography and I didn’t even know that. Ah yes, I am quite thankful for Genevieve. (Remember her? 😛 )
Okay, I really better stop before this gets any more ridiculously long. XD I loved your post!

    1. gapes in awe WELL I KNOW EXACTLY WHO LEFT THIS VERY LONG COMMENT! XD Haha, I love getting and replying to your comments. 😛
Thanks, I’m so glad you liked my art! 😀 I agree – Prismacolors are amazing. OOH GOOD IDEA. 😉
Thank you so much!! Ooh, will you be doing a post about your blogging notebook? I’d love to see it!
Haha, thanks! 😛 They were fun to make!
Thanks for the feedback! It’s very helpful. 😀
HA HA HA! laughs evilly Ahem. Sorry about that. XD
Yep, I totally see what you’re saying! A lot of bloggers are definitely very learned in the art of PicMonkey. 😛 I may or may not end up doing the post. 😉 Aw, thank you so much!
Hooray, I’m glad you like it! Thank you! 🙂
Haha, I usually get the weird holidays from Megan, but this time my sister told me about them. XD Ooh yes, I remember Genevieve. She’s a lovely camera. 😛
Thank you SO much for commenting, Allison!!

      1. HA HA! Aww yay, I’m so glad you like my comments! I was afraid they’d be too laboriously long. XD
Anyway, yes! You’re welcome! THANK YOU. Wait, I forget what my idea was…
Yeah, probably so! At least stick it in a post somewhere if not do a post all about it.
        You’re welcome!
        Yep, sure thing!
Heh heh. XD Yes, Genevieve my old girl. Wait, actually she’s kind of new but…
You’re SO welcome, Clara! Ha ha, after I comment on one of your random posts I feel like I’ve just finished writing a post myself. XD

  11. Oooh, I adore the envelope art!! It is AH-MAY-ZING!! (so is the rest of your artwork, but that’s probably my fave!! and the cat, but I’m probably a bit biased because I LOVE CATS.)

also, the idea for a blogging notebook is soooo cute. I think I’m going to have to do it soon, except for I’m super lazy and will probably end up writing in it only like two times. and I’m speaking from personal experience, sigh. I’ve tried keeping a bullet journal– emphasis on the TRY– but I’m super bad at aesthetics, so it never really works out???

  12. Ok, you totally had me fooled!!! I have totally heard of people doing that before and then after a while they reveal their real name! Happy (Late) Birthday Percy Jackson! Blue cookies 🙂 I love those books!
