Oh my goodness, you guys, when I said I’d be blogging less because of the college classes I’m taking, I wasn’t kidding! *drowns in ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics and critical reading assignments*
Anyways, school aside, today is Labor Day! The official last day of summer isn’t until the end of this month, but for me, Labor Day marks the beginning of the end of summer. School starts back in full force, the weather begins to cool down, the days get shorter, and Thanksgiving approaches. It won’t be too long before it’ll be cool enough for sweaters and bonfires and piles of crunchy leaves and YAY. *becomes very excited*
Though I can’t wait for the cooler weather, I am going to miss summer! I’ve had a lot of fun during the past couple of months and made some great memories.
I collected a list of some of the things I’ve done this summer along with some pictures that I have taken over the past few months to share with y’all. 🙂 Enjoy!
Some of my favorite summer memories:
Going swimming for hours on end.
Visiting our tiny local library and getting way more books than I have time to read.
Eating quite a few delicious peaches.
Enduring bad country music and enjoying incredible fireworks on the 4th of July.
Going on several long road trips.
Seeing a lot of rainy afternoons and summer storms.
Making ATCs on an airplane with my sister on our flight to Texas.
Exploring the woods with my siblings.
Going on many long walks in the hayfield with my sweet dog.
Racing against the heat to finish melting Popsicles.
Learning a ton about fishing thanks to my slightly obsessed younger brother.
Staying up past midnight to help assemble an Ikea bunk bed. (Tip: it’s fun to sing Adele at one in the morning).
Watching quite a few episodes of The Andy Griffith Show with my siblings.
Swinging on the amazing rope swing that hangs from an oak tree in our yard.
Picking a ton of delicious wild blackberries in the hayfield and gaining about 10,000 scratches from thorns in the process.
Watching hummingbirds and butterflies visit the zinnias that we planted around the patio in the front yard.
Cleaning, organizing, and re-arranging my brothers’ extremely messy bedroom.
Becoming better at using my dSLR and enjoying being able to capture moments like this with my new camera lens.
Seeing quite a few epic sunsets.
Celebrating several birthdays, including my baby brother’s fifth birthday.
Learning some new fiddle songs and playing lots of music with my dad and sister.
Enjoying summer. ❤
I hope you enjoyed this post! It was fun to write. I just wrote a short story about an adventure I had last summer. You can click here to read it if you’d like. 🙂
How has your summer been? I’d love to hear in the comments below!
