We went to the state fair yesterday! It was super fun. 🙂 We’ve never gone before except to show animals, so this was the first time I’ve ever been able to explore the actual fair. I took over 1000 pictures in a few hours…. whoops. XD Thankfully I was able to narrow them down to a somewhat smaller amount. 😉 I hope you enjoy looking at my pictures!
When we first got to the fair at around 8:30 AM, it was foggy and extremely humid. We hoped that the humidity would drop as the day went on, but sadly it only got hotter and more humid. 😛
The first thing we did was watch a pony show where a bunch of adorable kids with equally adorable miniature ponies paraded around a ring while dressed up in costumes. It wasn’t terribly exciting, but there was a pony wearing a unicorn horn. So that made up for the boringness of it. XD
There was also a part where adults showed some ponies, and I got these photos of a lady with her rather wild-acting pony. I liked how this one looked in black and white, so I edited them all that way. 🙂
There was a building filled with different breeds of rabbits, all of which looked very hot and sleepy. One of the cages was empty with this sign on it. 😂
Isn’t this cow adorable? ❤
Here’s some more black and white photos. 🙂
This was probably one of the coolest things we did at the fair – we got to watch a chick hatch out of an egg! (Maybe that’s a normal sight to some of you, but not for me. XD) It was so neat to watch.
I also had cotton candy for the first time! WOW, that stuff is sweet. It’s like a heavenly cloud of sugar and happiness. XD
There was a building full of art/photography, and it was super fun to explore. This guy was painting when we walked by. I kinda wanted to stay and watch him finish the painting, but that would have taken forever. It was neat to see him work even for a minute, though!
I took a ton of Ferris wheel pictures. You have been warned.
I love how colorful the fair is! It makes almost anything an interesting photo just because of the wide array of bright colors.
The people on this ride were screaming like crazy. XD
At one point, we walked through a big tent that was filled with interesting animals, plus a few more common ones like goats and sheep. 😛
Hello, Ms. Giraffe!
This adorable donkey seemed quite interested in my camera.
The animal tent was one of the few shady places in the fair. It was SO. HOT. We would sigh with relief every time we walked into a building with air conditioning. XD
We watched a show/demonstration thingy done by this reptile rescue guy. He talked about how to tell a venomous snake from a harmless one, and how you should treat a snake to keep from being bitten. Did you know that harmless snakes can move the bones in their head to make it look like they’re venomous? (Venomous snakes have triangle-shaped heads.) I thought that was pretty fascinating.
By around 2:00, the heat had become so bad that everyone was begging for something to drink, so we went and got some lemonade. It was extremely cold and delicious. I think any cold drink tastes about twice as good when it’s ninety degrees outside.
Here’s my little brother, Ezra. If you look closely, you can see that his face got somewhat sunburned – he wasn’t the only one. XD I currently resemble a tomato. *sigh*
This clock tower is where you’re supposed to go if you get lost. I imagine it would be pretty exciting yet terrifying to get lost in the fair. 😛
Thank you, Random Sunburned Guy, for unknowingly being the subject of my photo. Your head will now be on my blog for the world to see. You’re welcome.
This man was dressed like a Transformer. He folded himself up into a car shape and drove around, much to the amazement of the nearby kids. He must have been really hot in that costume….
See? I told you I took a ton of Ferris wheel photos. XD
Okay, guys, I REALLY LOVE THIS PICTURE. What are your thoughts on it?
Just looking at this crazy ride made me feel sick. How does anyone ride those things?? XD
The kid’s face in the back of the purple car makes me laugh every time I look at this photo. XD
Whew! That was a lot of pictures. If you made it to the end, then THANK YOU! 😀 I had a lot of fun at the fair, and I hope we get to go back next year!
Have you ever been to a fair? If so, what’s your favorite thing to do there?
