104 Things to Photograph {Creative Photography Challenge} Pt. 1

How are you guys? Did you have a good Christmas? I certainly hope so! Mine was great. πŸ˜€ Can you believe how close we are to 2018? What are your plans for tonight?

On my birthday earlier this month, Megan sent me a book called 104 Things to Photograph. The book is basically a list of photography prompts, and it’s super cool and creative! I decided to use the book for a series of blog posts in which I show you guys the pictures I used for the various prompts. πŸ™‚ I hope you enjoy my photos!

a sweatshirt:

messy hair:

shoelaces tied together:

a stain:

a wonderful surprise:

Here’s my youngest sister, Lila, on her birthday this past November. She got her first American Girl doll (Kit Kittredge) and her reaction was priceless. πŸ˜€

book covers:

a view from above:

This is the view from the balcony in an airport.

My three youngest siblings have spent the past couple of days building a fort out of tree branches. Here’s my littlest brother hiding inside of their completed fort, which is actually pretty impressive. XD

night in the city:

a high five:

Light painting is hard but fun! I created this photo by tracing my mom with a flashlight. Then I flipped the photo and combined the two in GIMP.

the tallest building:

a reflection:

This is the reflection of my camera in the dark with a long exposure. I think it’s neat how you can see the shutter only halfway open!

afternoon light:

a neon sign:

power lines:

This is a photo from when we went to Denver, Colorado a few weeks ago. That was an interesting trip that I’ll talk about more in a future post. πŸ˜›

a hiding place:

This shy little kitten was watching me from her hiding place in the abandoned barn behind our local dump.

under the covers:

today’s date:

black and white:

running water:

clouds that look like something else:

I think that the clouds look like a road or maybe train tracks. What do you think?

hard work:

something hidden:

This little bunny was camouflaging perfectly in the grass. I almost walked right by him!

a flock of birds:

from big to little:

I took this picture out the car window in Nebraska and I really like it. Can you see the silhouette of the dog behind the man?

Christmas lights:

I hope that was somewhat interesting! The photos were a lot of fun to take. Which one was your favorite? Would you like to see another post like this?

Happy New Year!

  1. AHH, I love this post!! My favorite are green, under the covers, high five, and today’s date. It’s super cool how you made everything but the box black and white in surprise. The clouds definitely look like railroad tracks!! HAPPY NEW YEAR.

  3. Beautiful! I might need to look into getting that book because I never stop to take pictures of the little, simple things. Also, my first AG doll was Kit as well! I spent so many years playing with her…thanks for evoking memories, Clara!

  4. I have too many favorites!! ‘Strangers’ was really memorable πŸ™‚

Tonight, my best friend and his family is coming over, and since it’s his mom’s birthday we always have a party with an ice cream bar and NYE stuff πŸ˜€

What do YOU do for New Years, though??

    1. Thanks so much, Abby!

Oooh, that sounds like a lot of fun! We do something a little bit different every year, but it usually involves fireworks, large amounts of sugar, and staying up past midnight. XD This year we’re going over to a friend’s house and having dinner with them. πŸ™‚
