Summer Bored Games: WEEK 1

Today is the day, everyone! It’s finally time for The Summer Bored games to begin! Are you excited? 😀

In case you’d like to review the basic rules of the game, you can check out my introduction post right here. 🙂 Let’s get right into it, shall we?

WHAT TO DO:

You have until the end of this week to complete however many of the 35 challenges below you wish to do. This is the only week that you’ll be able to complete these challenges.

When you’ve completed all the challenges you’d like to for the week, submit your points using the survey included in this post (see it below). Please try to submit your results just once per week. I suggest waiting until the end of the week to submit the survey.

Are you ready to see this week’s awesome challenges? Remember, the number at the end of each challenge is the number of points you’ll earn for that challenge. 🙂

SBG this weeks challenges

  1. Draw finger ducks on your fingernails. See how to in this post. 2
  2. Walk one lap backwards around your house. 2
  3. Give names to 10 inanimate objects in or around your house (examples: a desk, your bed, the fridge, your car, your instrument.) 2
  4. Tie a bow with your toes. 10 (megapoints)
  5. Play Invisi-Bottle. Here’s how to play: Take an empty clear 2 liter plastic bottle – one with a white cap, or with a cap the same color as your pool tiles. Fill the bottle with pool water and line the players up on the pool deck, backs to the water. When they hear the splash, they can turn around and try to find it. It’s harder than it seems as the bottle is camouflaged to the bottom. 3
  6. Make a house out of tree branches and eat your lunch inside of it. 3
  7. Learn a magic trick. 3
  8. Give someone a random gift for no reason (other than because of this challenge). 4
  9. Roll down a hill. 2
  10. Make homemade slime. 3
  11. Make a tiny twig house/fairy house. 3
  12. Write exactly one hundred words praising a Silly Song with Larry. 4
  13. Give a gift to your librarian. 4
  14. High five someone at 8:48 PM. 1
  15. Try to mail a flip-flop. 4
  16. Go outside when it’s raining and let yourself get completely soaked. 3
  17. Hold your finger on your nose for 20 minutes straight. 4
  18. Find a notebook and tape in things that inspire you (i.e. colors, quotes, flowers, aesthetic stuff). 3
  19. Write a list of at least twenty things that make you happy. 2
  20. Wear the most mismatching clothes you have, in public. 10 (megapoints)
  21. Take a video of yourself staring at the camera with a straight face. See how long you can do it. 2
  22. Roast a marshmallow over a candle or a Bunsen burner. 2
  23. Put googly eyes (or draw eyes) on a piece of fruit and set it on the counter. 1
  24. Research Brahma cows, Axolotls, or Saiga Antelopes. 3
  25. Write a story using only song lyrics. 4
  26. Eat an entire raw onion over the course of a day without slicing it. 10 (megapoints)
  27. Clean your living room as a surprise for your family. (By ‘clean’, I mean dust, sweep, or maybe pick up your own things. Don’t make your siblings mad by moving their things.) 4
  28. Leave a kind note in a library book. 3
  29. Try to balance a fruit on your nose for as long as you can. 2
  30. Eat an entire meal strictly adhering to the serving size suggestions. (_ tablespoons of Ranch for dip, _ grams of chips, _ cups of peas, etc.) Figure out how many calories you consumed for 1 extra point. 4-5
  31. Ask a cashier what their favorite candy bar is and buy it for them. 4
  32. Place 5 coins in random spots around your house or in public for others to find. 2
  33. Put together a puzzle that’s at least 500 pieces in one day. You can get people to help you. 10 (megapoints)
  34. Walk all the way around the outside of your house with a sleeping bag over your head. 2
  35. Draw a picture, and challenge someone to draw the exact same picture, following your instructions. (For instance, “Draw a big circle in the middle, then add two short lines near the top…”) See how close their picture looks to yours. 3gray-border

  4. Cool! Good post, Clara! Did we make sure to clarify clarafy XD (no pun intended! XD) that they can only do each challenge once per week? I guess that might be clear on the survey….
