Spring Greenery + Poetry

*waves* Welcome back, and happy April!

I know I’ve been posting a lot of photography lately – I decided to try something new and break my photography up into smaller sections instead of putting it all into one big “recent photography” post. πŸ™‚ Today I’ll be sharing some photos of the vibrant spring foliage along with two of my poems. I hope you enjoy this virtual peek into spring!

Look at how vibrantly green everything is! ❀ These are fig leaves – I love how symmetrical they are.

Let us all take a moment to appreciate this adorably tiny leaf. *takes a moment*

I shall now interrupt this program to share a poem. I actually got this published in a local college magazine (the same one that published my short story last year)! πŸ˜€ I don’t know much about different poetry styles, so I’m not sure what to call this, but it isn’t the rhyming kind. *shrug* Anyway, enjoy!

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is bloom.jpg

I made this poem into an image because I didn’t like how it looked in the default WordPress font. XD I hope that was somewhat interesting! Now we shall return to green-ness.

Okay, now for the other poem! I wrote this one yesterday. πŸ™‚

I had a lot of fun playing around with light in these photos! This last one is probably my favorite. πŸ™‚

I hope you enjoyed my poetry and photography – I definitely enjoyed capturing the beautiful greenery! I’m so glad that spring is here to stay. πŸ˜€

Do you prefer shorter or longer photography posts?

  1. Your photography is 100% A-MA-ZING. And I enjoyed reading both of your poems! The Saturday one was my favorite, it spoke to the inner artist and adventurer in me. (paint-splattered t-shirt and faded jeans = my haven)

    1. Thanks so much, Aria! I’m so glad you enjoyed my photos and poems. πŸ™‚ Yeah, I think I do too – they’re definitely easier to write. XD

  3. Pretty pictures! They’re so spring-y, which is lovely. I’m definitely enjoying the spring weather here, though there aren’t many trees in bloom or with leaves yet.
I think I do like the shorter format better, because it’s harder for me to make the time to read a longer post. But if it’s short, I can basically read it anytime. πŸ™‚ However you compose your posts, though, I enjoy reading them and looking at the photos. πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you so much! Spring weather is lovely. πŸ™‚ Yeah, I agree – shorter posts are much easier to write, too. Aww, thanks so much! ❀

  4. YAY GREEN! zooms to your place Eep I can’t wait for leaves!! I love these pictures, they’re like the epitome of spring for me. I think in some ways new leaves seem more spring-like than flowers. Also your poems are amazing!! I really like the one about the flower because I like the picture you painted with it. I could imagine it really well! (Sounds kind of like my sweet peas too… glares at cats) And the Saturdays one was probably my favorite because it was such a happy poem and I like poems like that that describe people. And I liked the metaphors. Welp, bottom line is, I loved this post!! Oh and I personally prefer longer posts when it comes to yours, but short posts are great too! πŸ˜€

    1. HOORAY! happily greets you with leaf confetti Yep, I agree with you – it doesn’t feel like spring until everything is green. πŸ™‚
Wow, thank you so much!! (Poor sweet peas.) THANKS VERY MUCHLY! πŸ˜€

  5. Lovely photos and poems! I especially loved the first poem! I liked the symbolism that you can find in it.
Now I want to get out with my DSLR and get some photos! I’ve almost exclusively been using my SLR film camera for my photography class this semester, so suddenly I want to get some digital photos… and my blog could really use some new content. πŸ™ƒ

        1. Ooh, that’s so exciting! I absolutely love Nikon cameras – I had a Nikon D3000 and a little Nikon Coolpix before I got my current camera. However, I’ve never used any other camera brands, so I can’t really speak to their quality. πŸ˜‰
