Hey, guys! How’s your weekend going?
Who here is excited for summer? *raises hand* Today’s post is full of very summer-y nature photography, so if you’re not excited for summer yet, maybe this will help to get you in the mood. 😀
We’ll begin with this lovely bullfrog that my siblings captured a few weeks ago. I love how colorful he is!
He looks so unimpressed. XD
Now for some flowers! I took these photos at a landfill, of all places. The beauty of the flowers really stood out against the ugliness of the surrounding landscape.
This patch of daisies appeared in the hayfield last month, and I managed to get some photos before it was overtaken by grass and weeds.
No photography post would be complete without Maude! It took a while to get her to cooperate, but I managed to get her to pose in the flowers. 😀
She wasn’t too pleased about having her photo taken.
Here’s another Maude photo from a different day. Doesn’t she look lovely in black and white?
Here’s some golden grass at sunset. I love the colors in this one!
These next few photos were taken on a tiny, overgrown nature trail at a nearby park.
Question: How many of you have seen an armadillo in the wild? They’re pretty common around here. I’ve been trying to get a good photo of one for years, but I never seem to have my camera with me when I spot them.
Here’s a random snail that was in our front yard. He was enormous!
This cute little snake was sunning on the driveway. (Do you think snakes can be cute?)
And now… SUN STARS! I’ve been practicing capturing sun stars for a while now, and I think I’ve finally figured it out.
Look at the rainbow flare! 😀
We’ll end with photos from a forest adventure. Last Friday, I took Ezra out to explore in the woods. He loved collecting interesting leaves and looking for animal prints, and I had fun taking photos. As we were walking back up to the house, he said sarcastically, “Did you get enough pictures?” He’s hilarious. :’D
Yep, more sun stars. 😀
Ezra had a tennis racket stuck down the back of his shirt to “knock down weeds”. I don’t see how it could have possibly been comfortable to carry it around like that, but he insisted. XD
I love how the evening sun lights up everything in the woods! It makes for such pretty photos.
YUM, BLACKBERRIES. The woods are absolutely full of them right now! Ezra picked this one for me and told me to keep it as “a memory of our adventure”. It’s sitting on my desk right now, and I’m going to tape the stem into my journal.
There were hundreds of dragonflies flying around in the low places. They were quite elusive, but I managed to capture one when it landed on a leaf – isn’t it such a pretty color?
I think this moss-covered stump kind of resembles a fuzzy shoe.
Can you see the tiny bug on the leaf?
I’m pretty sure this is a fox footprint!
On our walk back up to the house, I stopped in the hayfield to take a few photos of dandelion puffballs. 🙂
When we reached the yard, George appeared to welcome us back to civilization. Aren’t his eyes pretty?
Thus concludes my recent nature photography! I hope you enjoyed all that greenery and sunshine. 😀 I’d love to hear which photos were your favorites/least favorites in the comments!
Until next time! Have a great week. ❤
