Greetings! I hope you’re all having a great Monday so far. 🙂 Today’s post will be a little shorter than usual, but I hope you’ll enjoy it! I’ll be sharing some simple, easy envelope art ideas to (hopefully) inspire your own artwork. 😀 Let’s go!
idea #1: acrylic paint
Acrylic paint is great for adding a splash of color and texture to your envelope art!
The one downside of using paint is waiting for it to dry. *glances at purple fingers* I’m not too great at that part. 😀
If you’re using some sort of background that’s hard to write on, acrylic paint works great for making a place to write an address. 🙂
idea #2: stamps
I love using stamps – they’re a super quick way to decorate!
This envelope took about three minutes to finish! If you have some extra time, you could add color to your artwork by coloring in the designs. 😀
idea #3: washi tape
There are countless ways to use washi tape in your designs! For this one, I just used strips of washi tape and then drew a matching pattern.
For this design, I found some narrow washi tape and used it like painter’s tape – I stuck it on along the edges and then traced between the pieces with a paint pen. When I peeled it off, I was left with this pattern!
idea #4: simple patterns
This is probably the simplest way to quickly decorate an envelope – just write the address/draw some illustrations and then draw some sort of pattern in the blank space!
The stickers on this envelope are from Peach & Poppy Co.‘s wildflower snail mail kit! I’ve mentioned Megan’s amazing shop before when I reviewed one of her kits in this post. Go visit her shop – her kits are super useful and fun. 😀
Thanks so much for reading! I hope I successfully inspired you to decorate some envelopes. 🙂 Before you go, don’t forget to check out my other envelope art posts!
Have a wonderful week! ❤
