A Saturday Sunrise

Hey, everyone! HAPPY WEEKEND! ☀️

Are you an early riser? I usually sleep in pretty late – perks of being a homeschooler. 😀 However, after our neighbors recently harvested the huge pine forest beside our house, we were left with an open field that gives us a great view of the sunrise. Some of my siblings and I decided to get up early this morning and watch the sun come up, and I’m so glad we did! It was great. 🙂

This is where we came to watch the sunrise – the edge of our property, where my younger siblings have constructed this fort that they call Camp Wilderness. It’s pretty impressive – that gate in the front lowers down with a rope to create a drawbridge. Way better than the forts I made with my sister when we were younger. XD

I should leave a letter in here sometime and see if they notice. 😛

This is what the sunrise looked like at 6:30 – beautiful, right?

Which do you like better: sunrises or sunsets? I’ll always love sunsets – they’re so vibrant and dramatic compared to sunrises. That said, I think sunrises are really pretty in a softer, quieter sort of way, if that makes any sense. 😀

After about half an hour, we got bored of sitting still and decided to take a walk around the hayfield.

My siblings love finding things for me to photograph – it’s hilarious. Abram hunted down this grasshopper for me and I managed to get a photo before it escaped.

Another thing Abram found. He’s quite the handy assistant. XD

George followed us around the entire hayfield, loudly demanding attention.

He was quite happy when we finally noticed him. 😀

We said hello to the goats and the cow on the way back up. Anne is always so curious about my camera!

Just LOOK at those fluffy ears. 😍

We’ll end with this reflection of me in pajamas, hiding my messy hair with a baseball cap. XD

Thanks so much for reading! Do you watch sunrises often? Which photo was your favorite? 😀

I hope you have a great weekend!

Which do you prefer – sunrises or sunsets?

  1. Oh my goodness, your animal pictures are so ADORABLE!!! And all your other photographs are so gorgeous and beautiful. I prefer sunsets, but I think sunrises are pretty in a way that they’re more rare, since I tend to wake up late. Great post! ❤

  4. Ooh how pretty Clara! I love the up-closes with the sunset in the background. I’ve never really had much practice shooting sunsets, but after seeing your post, I want to try it more often. 😀

  5. I get up at 6 almost every morning, and the sun is just up by then 🌄 it so pretty, but its hard to see since our house is surrounded by trees. 😑 I just have to watch the bits in between change color, and the patches of sunlight move 🌄

    1. That sounds lovely! Yeah, sunrises/sunsets here are often blocked by trees here too, but I can still see the beautiful colors. 😀

  6. Oh wow, how pretty!! Sunrises are so beautiful to watch. I’m an early bird, so normally after I spend time with God (super early in the morning), I see the sun rise (homeschool perk 😄). Gosh, it’s amazing to see! 😊

  7. Gorgeous photos, Clara! I love the soft ambience of them! I basically NEVER get up early enough to see sunrises, so I prefer sunsets. XD Also because, like you said, sunsets are more dramatic and jaw-dropping, although sunrises are beautiful in a more subdued way as well. I LOVE THE PHOTOS OF CALVIN. Well, and all of them, but especially those. 🙂
